Although our name and programs may have changed over the past 60+ years, our purpose has never wavered. NSS continue to grow and thrive so that we can support people with a developmental disability in reaching their goals and leading their best lives.

At NSS, we are passionate about creating meaningful opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. Our mission is to offer comprehensive services that support their growth, independence, and well-being. Through our dedicated efforts, we strive to ensure that every individual has the chance to live a fulfilling and empowered life.
We envision a community where every person is inspired to thrive, where meaningful relationships are celebrated, and where full participation in community life is not just encouraged but embraced. Our vision is a world where each individual’s unique contributions are valued, and where the collective strength of our community benefits from everyone’s involvement.
Our core values are the foundation of our culture and guide everything we do. They reflect our deepest beliefs and drive us to achieve excellence in every aspect of our work:
Founded in 1953 by a group of visionary parents with the powerful motto “NO CHILD FORGOTTEN,” NSS has evolved from humble beginnings into a leading force for positive change. From our early days at the local YMCA to our current comprehensive range of services, our journey reflects a steadfast dedication to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
As we look to the future, we remain inspired by our mission and driven by our core values. At NSS, we are more than just a service provider—we are a community dedicated to making a difference, one life at a time.
We invite you to learn more about our services, our history, and how you can be a part of our mission to create a more inclusive and supportive community. Together, we can build a brighter future for everyone.
Niagara Support Services is a non-profit organization that has been providing services for people with a developmental disability since 1953.
